Question 5:
The package says the Aureon is "Bus - Powered". This doesn't work for me - I have to attach the included, extra power-supply. Why?

Answer 5:
You need a FireWire connecter with 6 pins and enough available electricity to use this function. Some PCI FireWire cards have an extra power connecter option to provide external devices with sufficient electricity. Should you only have a 4-pin connecter you will definately need to use the included power-supply.

Question 6:
The Aureon 7.1 Firewire is connected properly and is listed correctly in the Device Manager. The speaker test for all speakers is successful. Why do I only hear sound from the front speakers and subwoofer when I play a DVD or MP3?

Answer 6:
Check the audio properties of your software DVD player to be certain that more than just stereo speakers are activated. For MP3s and audio CDs the software player hardware acceleration must be activated. The Windows Media Player has this function activated by default.
