Question
1:

Start WinDVR3, press the right mouse button on the TV window and choose "Setup".
Go to the "TV" tab and select the "Mono" audio mode.
Question
2:
Does
using the Cinergy 250 USB require a USB 2 port?
Answer 2:
Yes. USB 1.x data transfer is too slow to be used here. The Cinergy cannot
be used with USB 1 (not even a limited functionalty is possible).
Question
3:
While
installing the Microsoft Hotfix (MS Hotfix 822603) an error occurs. The Hotfix
cannot be installed (KB 822603 Setup Error).
Answer 3:
Make sure the Region and Language settings in the Windows Control Panel reflect
the correct language for the country/location.
Question
4:
Which
operating systems are supported?
Answer 4:
The Cinergy 250 USB can be used under Windows 2000 or XP. Windows 9x support
is not possible due to general OS limitations regarding USB 2 implementation
in a 9x environment.
Question
5:
The
channel search doesnt find any/all of the channels. What can I do?
Answer 5:
Make sure the Region and Language
settings in the Windows Control Panel reflect the correct language for the country/location.
Also check which version of DirectX is installed on your system. (Start/Run --> "dxdiag"). If DirectX 9.0b is installed the frequency table for the channel search is most likely not included. Microsoft offers an update for this problem at: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=825116
Question
6:
The
included WinDVR software asks for a product key during installation. Do
I need a key?
Answer 6:
This key request only occurs when the Cinergy is not installed. Please install
the Cinergy driver and software first. Afterwards the Intervideo software can
be installed without a key.
Question
7:
Why
does the sound shut off after 2 minutes watching TV?
Answer 7:
This problem happens under Windows XP with Servive Pack 1. It is related
to the Windows Messenger, you can resolved it by disabling the Messenger as well
as the "MSN messenger check" in your anti-virus software. (for example
Norton Anti Virus 2003). This problem should be solved in the next Service Pack.
Question
8:
I
have connected the mini-jack to my notebook (Line In/Mic In), but no sound
comes out of the notebook speakers. How can I correct this?
Answer 8:
1. Open the Windows mixer by double
clicking on the loudspeaker symbol in the tray (next to the clock). Check to
see if the input you have used is displayed in the mixer menu.
2. If not, go to Options-->Properties
3. Select all unmarked devices listed in the lower frame. Click on "OK" and confirm that the source you have chosen is not muted.
Should you use the Mic In on your laptop, be sure the Mic Boost is not activated.
The same procedure can be used to activate the recording source for other software such as WinDVR. Perform steps 1 and 2 from above. Then select the menu point "Recording" and follow step 3 above, selecting the source you wish to record from.
Question
9:
When
viewing (Live-TV) with WinDVR 3 there is no sound, even though "Cinergy
250 USB Audio" is defined as the audio Input. When I activate Timeshifting
or start recording the sound is present. What is the problem and how do I fix
it?
Answer 9:
Under Setup->Device-> Audio Input only the Input for recording is
defined. In order to use the USB Audio input for Live-TV, the patch "Cinergy
250 USB Audio.reg" must be utilized. By default the Line In on the soundcard
is active because sound and video can become desynched on older, slower systems,
or on heavily loaded systems. This only applies to the Live-TV, not recording!!
With the patch "Cinergy 250 LoopBack.reg" the default settings can be reactivated.
